From the U.S. to the Holy Land

Most people like to travel.  It’s a great way by which to relax, have fun and see the world.  Among the most popular trips today is the array of excursions from the U.S. to the Middle East.

These holy land tours welcome all religious denominations.  And if you read the Bible, you’ll enjoy it even more; the stories will come alive every time you remember visiting a specific place.

As you’ll find out, the travel agencies that specialize in these journeys, offer more than expected.  So if you’ve already made up your mind that this could be an expensive proposition, think again.  A trip from the U.S. to the Holy Land not only includes airfare, but offers travelers the chance to stay at beautiful hotels, dine at fabulous restaurants and ride in the most comfortable, temperature controlled, luxury coaches.

So as you arrive in Tel Aviv after departing from New York, you’ll be driven along the Mediterranean coast to see the ruins of the old Roman capital, Caesarea.  At this ancient city built in 22 B.C. you’ll find the Roman theater, the aqueduct and other important ruins.  A visit to Mount Carmel will provide you with vistas you won’t soon forget; and during a stop to Muchraka you’ll get to see the spot where the prophet Elijah confronted Baal.

Continuing on to the Galilee, you’ll capture the beauty of the surrounding regions.  In Nazareth, you’ll witness the Church of the Annunciation and Mary’s Well, important symbols of Christianity.  And make sure your journey includes a visit to nearby Tiberias and Capernaum.

Don’t miss the Mount of Beatitudes, the site of the Sermon of The Mount.  And as you arrive in Jerusalem, focus on the magnificence of this city, where different faiths are represented.  Take the opportunity to stroll the Mount of Olives to get a bird’s eye view of the city’s beauty.  See the Hebrew University from atop Mount Scopus.  Go to Mount Zion to the Room of the famous Last Supper and the tomb of King David.

While in Jerusalem, a trip to the Jewish Quarter and the Western Wall is a must; and if time allows, take a tour of the Yad Vashem, the World’s most comprehensive Holocaust Museum.

Chances are you’ll want to experience it all again.  So don’t hesitate.  Travel will enrich your life and you can even start learning hebrew online .
